Goa Carnival

About the Trip - Come February and we take a plunge into the festivities of the Goa Carnival where the streets come alive with music, dance, colours and unbridled revelry. Walk along with the King & Queen Momo who preside over the Goan villages during the three day festival. Living right in the heart of the Latin Quarter gives you a chance to capture vintage Goa with the Portuguese influenced architecture. This trip will be guided by a POTM team member.

Join the Onthemove team on 18th and 19th Feb, 2012 for capturing the carnival and discovering a whole new love for travel! Please note, this is NOT a workshop. This is a photo-trip lead by POTM so you can cover the carnival and meet like minded photographers to share and learn from.

Day 1 – Arrive at Panjim and check into the oldest heritage hotel of Goa! After a short orientation regarding the festival and the path in which the parades happen, we head to the carnival after lunch. With special access, we get to walk along the King and Queen Momo (main float) and catch the action upclose and personal. Feel free to shake a leg with the dancing troupes. Be prepared to be on your toes for the whole day.

Day 2 - Wake up early and head straight to the fishing docks for some great photo-opportunities.  We also give you an option to explore the Latin Quarter with a heritage walk that gives you a great insight on the history of the place. Catch up with the rest for a photo-review and sharing thoughts and be off to catch your flights/trains/buses back.
